In-School Assignment: Photography
Spring 2024

This project’s goal was to choose a subject to photograph and consider what drew them to you as a subject. We were to schedule a conversation/interview with our subject to help get a better sense of their character. The photographs were to be personalized to our subject and we were to make our subject comfortable in the photo taking process. For my subject she is an OR Nurse, so we decided to take some nurse/hospital themed shots. The viewer is supposed to feel as if they were the patient who just had a needle injected in their body/are about to. I feel that having this approach makes the viewer more engaged in the image, even if that engagement is due to fear. This project made me concentrate a lot on focus, as it is difficult to have all or just one part of the frame in focus.
